Celebrating the life of

Stephen Lawrence Skinner

Passed away on February 10, 2024

Stephen Lawrence Skinner

Stephen Lawrence Skinner, AKA Skinner / Skinman, passed away on February 10, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. He was born March 22, 1964. Stephen was the son of Herbert Clifton Skinner and Bertie Palmer Skinner.

Stephen grew up on Whitemarsh Island. He was a true river rat, running havoc on the creeks and marshes in his youth. He graduated from St. Andrew’s in 1982, and earned a BA in Psychology from Wofford College.

Stephen’s easy going nature and genuine love for others, attracted a wide and diverse circle of friends. He never met a stranger. His vibrant spirit touched the hearts of everyone he encountered. Stephen was fun loving, kind hearted and always had a smile on his face. He brought joy to those around him with his passion for cooking, horticulture and great music. His impeccable taste for good tunes and extensive playlist could lift anyone’s mood. Music filled his soul, and was his constant source of joy. Stephen’s infectious laughter filled every room. He had a way of finding humor in the simplest things, and his laughter spread like wildfire. May his laughter continue to echo in our hearts.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Clifton Skinner and Bertie Palmer Skinner.

He is survived by his sister, Liz Kehoe (Joe) of Savannah and his brother Trey Skinner of Savannah. Niece, Carson Kehoe Liipfert (Ben) and nephews Blake and Brenton Skinner.

A Celebration of Life Band Party will be on March 1, 2024 at 7:00 pm at Islands Sports Bar, 348 Johnny Mercer Blvd. on Wilmington Island, GA

Donations may be made in his memory to the Rex Foundation - Rexfoundation.org.
